Alta Vista Elementary & Intermediate School is located in the community of Questa.  The school building houses students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade.  Our enrollment averages to about 200 students per school year.  We service students from the communities of Questa, Cerro, Sunshine, El Rito, and Lama.  Our academic program emphasizes the spiralled curriculum provided by Everday Mathematics as well as the strategies of the Reading First Program.  Our academic program includes instruction in Mathematics, Reading/Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Spanish LA, & English Language Development.  In addition to our academic program, students recieve additional opportunities to recieve instruction and experience in Physical Education, Art, Technology (Computer Skills), Library (skills) and Music.  Our students are provided with free or reduced breakfast and lunch.  To register your child at AVEIS you may do so at the Alta Vista School office or call 575•586•0032 between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm for more information.
Roots and Wings Community School is a state-chartered expeditionary inspired learning school that serves a diverse group of K-8 students from the greater Taos community in northern New Mexico.Â

The Questa Food Pantry now serves as many as 300 families at each of our twice monthly distributions. In the past year we have more than doubled the number of families who receive food!
Our mission is to support small farm, garden and food based businesses in northern Taos County, and youth through market internships and mentorship.
Farmers and gardeners, bakers and makers, artists and youth ~ sell your produce and goods! Join us on Sunday afternoons: keep dollars local, find fresh food, support entrepreneurs and visit with one another. We are EBT/SNAP authorized, participate in the Double-Up-Food-Bucks program (for New Mexico farmers), and accept WIC and Senior Nutrition Program checks.
The Questa Lodging Project started as an idea in the summer of 2017. It is an innovative economic development tool utilizing existing Questeños’ vacant homes. A revolving loan fund helps legacy families fix and rent their historic homes, adds affordable housing, creates jobs, and draws-in newcomers to the community. We are a non-profit, non-partisan organization organized exclusively for the charitable, religious, educational and scientific purposes under section 501c(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
