Children's World Child Development Center has been teaching and caring for childern for over 20 years. 

Care is available for children 6 weeks to 12 years old. 

Full Day care is available 6 AM - 6 PM.

Administers the Child Care Assistance and the Child Care Regulatory Oversight programs.

The Child Care Assistance Program helps parents/legal guardians who are working, going to school, in a job training program or searching for employment with childcare expenses.

​Early Childhood Intervention Services

​Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) is a service provided for families of children (birth to three years of age) with developmental delays, disabilities, or certain medical diagnoses that could impact the child's development.  This service is provided at no cost to the family, as part of the federal Family Infant Toddler (FIT) Program. Zia's ECI professionals support families in meeting their child's developmental and health-related needs by giving families ideas and suggestions for activities that reinforce their child's development during the family's daily routines and activities. 

​Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) are developed in collaboration with the family and Zia's ECI professionals to identify goals and strategies to meet these goals. Furthermore, IFSPs also include descriptions of the supports and services the family will receive from Zia's ECI professionals. Each family is assigned a Family Service Coordinator to ensure all services are being provided and to help families access other services and learn how to advocate for their child. In addition, the family and family's team will determine who will be the lead provider of services for their child. ​​

Once an IFSP is established, services can be provided in any setting where the child spends his or her day, including the family home, childcare facility, or other community setting.

Child Care and Development Program

​Young children learn best in the context of meaningful, day-to-day interactions with adults and other children. They learn by building on what they already know and through play and repetition. They learn by doing. They are energetic, inquisitive, enthusiastic, and filled with wonder about the world around them. They are eager to learn and every activity is an opportunity for learning. 

​Our hands-on approach to early childhood education takes advantage of young children's natural abilities and interests. Children have enormous energy and they don't enjoy sitting for long periods of time. Our teachers plan and present activities that can be done while children move around. Our classroom learning centers encourage children to actively explore their environment. 

​Our Early Childhood Educators use the Focused Portfolio assessment process to follow the development of each child. As children achieve new developmental milestones, the information is recorded and shared with the family. The information gained from this assessment process is used to design curriculum and learning instruction specific to each child. 

​Zia's Child Care and Development Program provides an inclusive, safe, fun place where children can learn and grow. We have a beautiful playground that is grassy, shady and accessible to all children. And all that activity works up a big appetite! Zia serves breakfast, lunch and snacks at no added cost to families. Meals are cooked onsite and are nutritious and delicious. They are served family style, with children learning to serve themselves and take part in the clean-up.

​Zia Therapy Center was started as a grass roots effort in 1960, at a time long before there were community based programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Zia began providing services for children, and as the children grew, so did our services. We now provide a myriad of services that support people with I/DD as they live, work and take part in our community.

​We believe in and celebrate the rights of people with I/DD to have full inclusion and access to our community and we believe in their rights to choice, self-determination and self-direction.

​Our staff must pass rigorous background checks that include nation-wide fingerprint criminal screening and pre-employment drug screening, to ensure we hire the best applicants. We also take training very seriously and each direct care provider is highly trained before providing services.

WHAT SERVICES DOES COPE OFFER?

SHELTER SERVICES Safety and shelter, food, clothing, transportation, assistance in filing Orders of Protection (restraining orders), and counseling for adults and children experiencing family violence.

ADVOCACY SERVICES that link people experiencing family violence to legal, housing, and employment services as well as assistance in filing Orders of Protection and other community resources.

COUNSELING SERVICES Individual and group counseling addressing issues of family and relationship violence for domestic violence victims, perpetrators, and their children. Groups focus on building and acquiring skills to avoid further abuse and family violence.

COPE's Domestic Violence Offender Treatment and Intervention program is certified by the State of New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department.

Theses presentations convey valuable information about preventing and dealing with family and relationship violence and dating violence

Brighter Days is a family focused and compassionate mental health center in Alamogordo, New Mexico offering psychiatric services including evaluation, both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic intervention and management, and psychoeducation for children and adults in our community.  We also specialize in perinatal mood disorder for persons who are currently pregnant, postpartum, or trying to conceive.

The Otero County Healthcare Services Department is dedicated to improving access and availability of healthcare resources to the uninsured and underinsured residents of Otero County.

Healthcare Assistance Program (HCAP)

Purpose as set forth in NMSA 1978 §27-5-2:

• Otero County is the responsible agency for ambulance transportation, hospital care, or the provision of health care to indigent patients domiciled in Otero County.
• Otero County provides support to the State Medicaid Program.
• Otero County can improve the provision of health care to indigent patients with local revenue for countywide or multi-county health planning.

Disposition Program

Purpose as set forth in NMSA 1978 §24-13-1:

• Otero County is the responsible agency to ensure the body of any unclaimed decedent or indigent person is decently interred or cremated

CHINS, a local non-profit organization, has provided services for children and families in Otero & Lincoln Counties for over 30 years. CHINS employs over 100 dedicated professionals providing a variety of services designed to support and strengthen families.

Child Care

Child Development Centers provide care for over 350 children combined. Both Children's House and Full House are Nationally Accredited and meet the highest standards of care. Full House Too, our newest center, has begun the process to become accredited as well. Each center offers the NM Pre-K curriculum to assure school readiness.

Chat with a lactation professional, meet other moms, and make some friends. Group meets the first Thursday of every month from 4:30-6:30pm in the Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center, Maternal Child Conference Room.

At PMS, we offer a wide range of therapy and treatment options. We serve children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Our clients come from all walks of life and all diversities. Some of our common services include providing individual, couples, family and group therapy for mental health and substance use disorders, medication evaluation and management, and crisis intervention.

PMS provides specialty behavioral health programs based on local community need. These include specialty court services, Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST), Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Psycho-Social Rehabilitation (PSR), Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS), Behavioral Management Services (BMS), Respite, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Traditional Healing.

Building Supplies-Partner with Home Depot to provide building material to repair homes in Otero County

Medical Equipment Ministry-Loans medical equipment to those who do not have insurance.

Backpack Food Ministry- Provides weekend backpacks filled with non-perishables to our public school children that are identified as being in need. The backpacks go home on Friday and are returned on Monday to be replenished for the following week.

Benevolence Fund- Provides assistance with things such as prescriptions, utility bills, rent and overnight shelter. In addition, volunteers can assist with small household repair, wheelchair ramps, preparing coolers/heaters, etc.

PNM Good Neighbor-Love INC is the administrator for PNM’s Good Neighbor Fund for Otero County, assisting those that may need help paying their electric bill.

Community Garden-Created as a way of providing healthy, nutritious produce that families that they can grow themselves.

Community Classes-Walk alongside clients, giving them the tools and encouragement, they need to reach their full potential.

Household Ministry-Provides household necessities like dishes, pots and pans, bedding, towels and more.

At this time, there are no face-to-face parents support programs in Catron County. The Parents Reaching Out program is based in Las Cruces with a web-based component. The agency describes themselves as a non-profit organization that works with parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals to promote healthy, positive and caring experiences for families and children.

Services include parent classes, counseling, substance abuse outpatient services, medication assessment and management, free transportation to and from the clinic is offered free of charge. You must make an appointment 48 hours in advance. Please call ahead to confirm hours of service, availabilty of services, public health safety guidelines when visiting and fees.

Available to women who are pregnant for the first time and first-time families. Home visits encourage the development of skills and knowledge around infant growth and development, nurturing positive relationships, and creating safe environments.

Programs build nurturing connections between very young children and their parents, to give kids the very best chance at growing up healthy and safe. Services include home-based and center-based programs for prenatal to 6 years olds, prenatal care, doulas and birthing classes, breastfeeding information, nutrition support and grandparents raising grandchildren. Please call ahead to confirm hours of service, availabilty of services, public health safety guidelines when visiting and fees.

Services begin at pregnancy or time of birth and go until the child is 36 months. Home visits, trainings for first time parents/families, focus on building strong, healthy relationships.

  CPLC offers a wide range of behavioral health services through two programs: Centro De La Familia, housed at our Maryvale Community Service Center and Centro Esperanza in Mesa.

• Domestic Violence Services

  CPLC DV programs provides a safe, secure place for families to heal from the traumatizing effects of abuse. Shelter and community-based services meet survivors where they are to help them discover their strengths and regain their freedom.

  De Colores is the only fully bilingual, bicultural program in the Valley providing tailored services to Spanish-speaking and immigrant populations. Specialized legal services are available to assist with orders of protection, immigration and visa paperwork, and court accompaniment.

  A range of supports including emergency shelter, legal advocacy, case management, support groups, sexual assault services, youth programs, and assistance with permanent housing and employment is available. De Colores helps more than 800 survivors become safe and self-sufficient each year.

Keogh offers FREE enrollment assistance for AHCCCS (Arizona’s Medicaid), KidsCare, Marketplace Health Insurance (The Affordable Care Act), SNAP (food stamps), and TANF (emergency cash assistance). Our Navigators are advocates and teachers who care for and support our clients on the road to self-sufficiency.

Chicanos Por La Causa provides a comprehensive senior housing and meal program, including a center‐based program that offers advocacy and case management services. Along with assisting its residents though supportive services, the CPLC Senior Services program also provides its clients with a “Meals on Wheels” program as well a Senior Center Based Meal Program.

• Substance Abuse

CPLC Corazón is a client-centered, multicultural center with bilingual staff offering a variety of treatment modalities. We have been providing Substance Abuse treatment through our CARF Accredited Level II Residential Treatment Center since 1983. The 30- to 60-day structured treatment program incorporates best practices targeted to the clients enrolled in the program.

Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) formed in 1969 to fight discrimination against the Mexican American community. Inspired by Dolores Huerta and Cesar Chavez, we advocated for equity in education, politics, and labor conditions. Today, CPLC provides services to people of all backgrounds while honoring our Mexican-American roots.
With offices in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas, we impact almost 1 million lives every year.

There are two child development centers (CDC) located at Cannon AFB

• Cannon CDC (335 West D. L. Ingram Ave, Cannon AFB)
• Chavez CDC (101 James Boatwright Avenue, Cannon AFB)

Cannon CDC Capacity- 158 children.

Chavez CDC Capacity- 168 children.  

Both centers provide care for children 6 weeks until the start of kindergarten.
Both centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.  

The staff supports the development of the whole child and provides active, hand-on learning experiences to meet the individual needs of each child in the program.  To encourage children’s growth and ensure activities are developmentally appropriate, staff observes all children on a regular basis and uses this assessment in planning related activities.  Parents and staff work together to set goal for each child based on the strengths, progress and needs.

Each CDC uses “The Creative Curriculum.”  The curriculum provides progressive developmental activities in the following areas:  social, emotional, physical, cognitive and communication.  The centers have also worked with local early intervention specialists who can provide one on one support for children who may have a learning delays or conditions affecting growth and learning. 

Both CDC's are enrolled in the USDA food program and offer nutritious and appealing meals for breakfast, lunch and snacks.   The cost for child care includes all meals, including baby food and some infant formulas.

Migrant Program

• For ages 21 and under
• Offers a Migrant Summer Academy for the migrant students.
• Educational activities are provided for those students that may need extra help in school.
• After school tutoring is available for students grades K-12.
• School supply distribution programs.
• Assistance with help in providing information about GED programs and ESL classes to the migrant families.
• Assistance with Scholarships information to the migrant students.
• Assistance to families with help in locating resources for food banks/pantries and clothing banks.
• Assistance to families with help in locating resources for medical, dental, and/or optical to migrant students.
• Transportation is available to those that need a ride to and from the doctor's office.

Home visitation helping families identify their personal goals and learn to build upon their strengths, recognize challenges and opportunities for growth, and establish healthy relationships whose effects will last a lifetime. At the core of the program is the conviction that a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby are not only critical to the immediate well being of mother and child but are also basic to the long-term health and success of family and community. The most effective and efficient unit for building a competent society is a bonded, resilient and competent family.

Supplemental Food and Nutrition Education Program for Woman, Infants, and Children. Breast-feeding education & support; Parenting skills; Stages of child development; Importance of bonding and attachment; Development screening; Referrals for childbirth education, care of the newborns.

May assist with payments for childcare for those who qualify and attend school, employment, or work through ISD/HSD. This service does not, in any way, connect you with CYFD or protective services.

Temporary Cash Assistance provides a monthly cash benefit to meet basic family needs
such as housing, utilities, and clothing costs.
General Assistance (GA) provides limited financial assistance to children and disabled
adults.
Food Stamps issued to eligible low income households to increase purchasing power and
nutrition levels.
Community Assistance Programs & Community Service Block Grant provides
emergency assistance to persons and families for food, housing, medicine, work and education.
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) assists persons and
families with heating and cooling costs. Protects from winter shut-off: To avoid potential disconnection of services please contact the Human Services Department for eligibility information. Your services will not be disconnected from November 15 to March 15.

Qualified farm workers receive job training and/or classroom training to increase their basic skills or work skills in order to obtain unsubsidized employment. Provide work readiness training along with supportive services with the goal of helping people reach a higher level of self-sufficiency. Help-NM’s youth program goals are to improve educational achievement, job readiness and employment opportunities for youth 14-21 years old.

A full service domestic violence prevention/intervention provider with wrap-around service in the form of: Advocacy and Support, Legal Advocacy, Counseling (individual and group), Emergency Shelter Services, Life Skills, Community Outreach and Community Training.

Our goal is to create community-based prevention programs through mentoring, counseling, peer-to-peer services, and activities to empower our youth to create positive lifestyle choices.

Teen Court

This program gives the offender a second chance while holding them accountable for their actions. Teen Court serves as a community-based diversion program designed to provide an alternative response for the juvenile justice system. The teen accepts responsibility for their offense, appears before a judge and their peers, and is sentenced.
