At PMS, we offer a wide range of therapy and treatment options. We serve children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Our clients come from all walks of life and all diversities. Some of our common services include providing individual, couples, family and group therapy for mental health and substance use disorders, medication evaluation and management, and crisis intervention.

PMS provides specialty behavioral health programs based on local community need. Throughout the years, the delivery of early intervention has evolved to family guided services supporting your child’s learning and development in their natural environment. Staff partner with families to develop goals and strategies that are easily integrated into the family’s daily routines.

Customized Community Supports

The service focuses on maximizing independence, creating interpersonal relationships, establishing natural supports, and participating in the local community. These supports are based on individual choice of outcomes and then designed to measure progress specified in their Individual Support Plan.

Project Shield assists individuals with disabilities to increase economic independence, self-reliance, and growth within a career. Based on the individuals' career plan, they will work with a job coach during the job search process, the application and interview process, and job improvement and growth. We provide job coaches, transportation, assistive technology, and specialized job training.

• Parent Education/Home Visiting: This Early Childhood Service is designed for parents and guardians of children from birth through 5 years of age. This includes adoptive parents and teen parents, as well as expectant parents. The goals are to provide educational services and child development guidance, to ensure babies are born healthy, and to keep children safe and sound. Children’s psychological, emotional, and mental health are all addressed and parents are taught how to nurture their children through community support to ensure children are ready for school. This program is built on the belief that a parent is their child’s first and most important teacher.

We provide Sexual Assault Nurse Exams (SANE – medical/forensic exams), rape crisis advocacy, and counseling. Our staff also works in the community to prevent sexual assault through multi-session, education-based programs with specific groups. This education includes awareness programs, including ‘Safe Dates’, a healthy relationship curriculum, geared for high school students.

SAS will be will you throughout every step of your recovery process, from an exam to counseling, and facilitation of legal services to pursue the person who assaulted you. Established in 1978, Family Crisis Center (FCC) is a 501(c)(3) agency and comprehensive domestic violence service provider, offering a broad range of services geared toward response to the crisis of domestic violence. Services are provided at two facilities including Marge's Place, a protective shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children, and our Counseling Center which provides services and support to victims, child witnesses, and offenders.

Incorporating a trauma lens approach allows FCC to address the physical and emotional needs of domestic violence survivors, support the healing and recovery process, and empower survivors to take positive steps toward their own well-being and the well-being of their children.

The primary purpose of the Child & Family Development Center (CFDC) on the campus of San Juan College (SJC) is to serve as a laboratory school for early childhood, nursing, psychology, dental and sociology students at the College. Practicum students in early childhood education courses are part of the Center staff each semester. They are supervised by qualified teachers to plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities for young children.

The secondary purpose of the CFDC is to provide child care and early education services. The Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC accreditation recognizes programs that comply with nationally recognized criteria for high-quality early childhood programs. The CFDC is licensed by the State of New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department.

Childhaven’s mission is “Lifting Children from Crisis to Hope.” We have been serving the San Juan County (SJC) community for 50 years, addressing issues of child abuse and neglect. In that time, our organization has grown from one program to six and from a yearly client population of 225 children to 1,028 children and parents to meet an increased community need for vital child victim services.

Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide a wide range of social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans, active duty service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families. Readjustment counseling is offered to make a successful transition from military to civilian life or after a traumatic event experienced in the military. Individual, group, marriage and family counseling is offered in addition to referral and connection to other VA or community benefits and services. Vet Center counselors and outreach staff, many of whom are Veterans themselves, are experienced and prepared to discuss the tragedies of war, loss, grief and transition after trauma.

The Community-Based program is highly flexible and allows for endless possibilities for mentors to connect with their mentees. Matches get to know each other by having fun doing activities out in the community. One-to-one outings are often low cost or no cost activities, like:

• Taking a walk in the park

• Going to museum

• Attending a BBBS monthly event

• Listening to music

• Hanging out and talking

Some mentors meet their mentees on the weekends. Others get together with their Littles on weekday afternoons or evenings. Each match is unique and develops a schedule that works for them.

Studies show that children who have role models are more likely to improve in school and in their relationships with family and friends, and less likely to skip school or use illegal drugs or alcohol. Students who are successful in school are less likely to drop out, abuse drugs, or commit crimes.

The National Indian Youth Council, Inc., (NIYC) workforce development program is designed to empower urban Native Americans to achieve educational and economic success.  For instance, the program provides career coaching, work experience, classroom training, and other services to those who reside within the Albuquerque/Las Cruces, Farmington, and Gallup service areas.  As a result, our goal is to support, assist, and enable you to:

• Strengthen your academic, occupational, and literacy skills;

Job Corps is a free education and training program that helps young people learn a career, earn a high school diploma or GED, and find and keep a good job. The friendly staff in each center assist businesses with posting their job openings on www.jobs.state.nm.us, special recruitment, analyzing hard to fill jobs, layoffs, job fairs, and skills assessments for hiring. For job seekers, staff assist with job search, job referrals and placement, and customized skill development like interviewing skills and resume writing.
